Today I was contacted by a new yo-yo brand called Pocket Pros. They are made by Razor USA, a company known for the original Razor kick scooter.

They have a new line of yo-yos coming out soon, and they were interested in sponsoring the California State Yo-Yo Championship as a Featured Sponsor. What they are offering is big, HUGE news and…. Let me put it this way, things just got real!

California State Yo-Yo Championship Spins to the State Capital

Sacramento, Ca, February 20th — On March 6th at 10am, hundreds of yo-yo players from all over California and neighboring states will descend on the Westfield Downtown Plaza with one thing in mind: competition. Old School tricks like Rock the Baby and Walk the Dog take on a new life as performers push the boundaries of yo-yo technology to dazzle the audience. Competitors perform a two minute freestyle routine filled with tricks that defy gravity and boggle the mind. Adding to the large volume of prizes at stake is a $1000 cash prize for each of the two Championship Division winners, presented by Pocket Pros. One thing attendees can be certain of; they have never seen yo-yoing like this.

Attendance to the California State Yo-Yo Championship is free. Watch California’s best yo-yo competitors contend for advancement to the regional multi-state contest, just one step away from the World Yo-Yo Contest in Florida. Enjoy the California State Yo-Yo Championship in the luxury of the Westfield Downtown Plaza’s eateries and shopping venues. With so much to do, this all day event is a sure fire hit for the entire family. Three divisions, two Championship divisions and one Amateur Division,  allow players of all skill levels to compete at a low registration price. With hundreds of professionals around, finding someone to teach the ups and downs of the world’s second oldest toy will be a cinch. The California State Yo-Yo Championship has been running for nearly two decades. State Champions have gone on to compete and win at the National and World levels. California is considered to be a focal point of the yo-yo world, and many of the worlds the best players call California home.
Pocket Pros will be presenting $1000 to the two Championship Division First Place winners on the main contest stage during the Awards Ceremony, scheduled to take place at 6pm on March 6th.
